This week has been a busy one, but very productive. During the week we had a new antenna installed and new carpet put in the lounge room. So we now have a TV that works and somewhere nice to sit and watch the TV. On Saturday Mum, Dad, Paul and Michelle came over to help us do a few bits and pieces. Adrian used Paul and Michelle’s gerni to clean the front path and the driveway. While he was doing that, Dad did a few jobs inside and then cleared down the side of the house to help the drainage. Paul spent his time on our patio fixing the leak/rust problem. Meanwhile the girls were inside sorting through things, including putting Ella’s clothes away in her new dresser that Adrian and Mum picked up. It was a great day and we really appreciated the help.
On Sunday, we headed off to church and then called in at Mum and Dad’s place to use their printer to print some photos (our replacement printer was still on its way at that point). After lunch Adrian used the gerni on the rest of the carport and then I had a go with it and did the whole patio area. Adrian decided he was on a roll so he did the side of the house and by then it was dark and time to call it a night. I ran around and quickly did the housework and then we started the dinner/bedtime routine.
So all in all it’s been a great week and the house is really starting to look like ours, with a few more photos up and pretty much everything sorted into its rightful place. The only update on Ella is that she had another immunisation this morning which she coped with really well. My favourite thing about her at the moment is her understanding of washing. After her dinner we clean her up and then ask her to put her bib in the dirty clothes basket, so she toddles off down the hall and puts it in. If it’s too dark she gestures at the light switch so that we’ll turn it on for her. Then when she hears me talking about doing the washing, she takes my hand and leads me down the hall to the dirty clothes basket. She takes one end and I take the other and she helps me carry it to the laundry. She’s not happy until I’ve put it in the laundry, not outside the door. She’s got such a beautiful personality, I just love it 🙂
