Adrian and I had a lovely weekend. Friday night we did the groceries and cleaned the unit and then Saturday I spoke to Eenie and Fran, which was nice. After lunch we started getting ready for Hilary and Andy coming over.
It was Hilary’s birthday a couple of weeks ago, and this was the first chance we had to have her over to spoil her. We made broccoli and stilton soup for starters, then lamb and lentil cottage pie for main, followed by pineapple eton mess for dessert. It all turned out really well, and as always, we had a lovely night with great company 🙂
Then on Sunday Adrian spoke to his Mum before we headed out for a walk somewhere. We explored a bit of Windsor Great Park, and ended up at Virginia Water Lake, which has all sorts of tracks around the lake – some for walking, others for cycling, or both. We didn’t stay long as the weather wasn’t very good, but we plan to hire bikes and go back at some point. We hadn’t been back in the car long when it started pouring with rain – typical English day (it was perfect sunshine in the morning, with not a cloud in sight). We bought a soup each from Waitrose and then lazed around for the afternoon before we went to church.
Speaking of Waitrose, they have some awesome easter eggs!! This one is my favourite – it’s a mister potato-head that you make yourself, using all his different parts and ‘chocolate goo’.
They have all sorts of other awesome things too. For those Australians who, unless I’m mistaken, haven’t seen anything quite like this before at their local supermarket, you can check it out at www.waitrose.com
On that note, I’ll leave you to enjoy the rest of your day/night. Take care and lots of love from us both xoxo (3 and a half weeks till I’m home!)
