Next year when Mum and Dad come over to stay with us for a few months, the main trip we are taking together is to Scotland.  Mum is going to show us where she was born, as well as going to see Loch Ness, Loch Lomond and all the other famous ‘Scottish’ places.  Then the most exciting part is on the way back we are going to see the Edinburgh Military Tattoo. We have watched it on the TV every year since I can remember, and it has been something that we have always wanted to see in person.  On Monday Adrian booked the tickets for us, and later in the day (while I was home sick) I booked a 2 bedroom apartment for us to stay in for the night.  The hotel is less than 20 minutes walk from the Castle so we should be able to crawl into bed at the end of the night without too much hassle.  I can’t believe we have actually booked tickets to see the Tattoo live, in person, the real deal!!!

We are also hoping to go on a cruise around the Greek Isles, but that is yet to be confirmed/booked …..

  1. Seriously Jealous. Watching the Tatoo each year is, like I guess most Australians, been a family tradition for years. Love to go see it sometime. Have fun.

  2. Hello Janet and Adrian

    It all sounds fantastic.

On your travels through Scotland, if you are passing through Inverness, and happen to go anywhere near a village called Glenussie, could you think about taking a photo. My great grandfather, Alistair MacIntosh was from there, and I have always wondered what it looks like.

Please don’t make a special trip there; its only if you are passing through that way.
