More Christmas Magic

On Tuesday afternoon we headed into London on the train/tube and met Hilary, Andy, Oliver and Emily outside Somerset House to go open-air ice skating. We had a hot chocolate until it was time to get our skates on ready for our 1hr session which started at 5.30pm. The rink is quite small, but they limit the number of tickets – we’ve had these for months so we wouldn’t miss out. Andy and Emily didn’t skate so Emily sat inside and Andy stook outside and took photos for us. We had so much fun and the backdrop was gorgeous – a dream come true! After skating, we all went to Pizza Hut and had their Christmas special, 3 course meal. It was lovely to spend some more time with Hilary and Andy before Christmas.
Last night we drove to Woking (nice and early) to see the pantomime Cinderella at the theatre there. We got there nice and early to avoid the traffic, so Katharine and I went shopping while the boys found a cafe to sit in and fiddle with photos and stuff. We ate there before going into the show. It was soooooo much fun, and we laughed almost non-stop throughout the whole show! A few things went wrong and some of the characters got the giggles, but it just added to the amusement. Of course there were jokes for the adults which went straight over the kids’ heads. It’s too hard to put into words all the funny things that happened and good jokes – you’ll just have to take my word for it.
This morning I went and had my hair cut and coloured, ready for Christmas. I’m busy catching up on blog posts and photos, while the other 3 are playing on the Wii. We’re trying to think of something ‘Christmassy’ to do this afternoon since it doesn’t really feel like Christmas Eve.

Thank you for sharing your stories and your beautiful photos. Dad and I loved the photos of the snow at your flat – it is more special because we have been there and know exactly where the photos are taken from!! The “picking the tree” expedition seemed like a lot of fun – thank goodness Walker also seemed to like the tree and that he didn’t get left in the tree wrapping machine! The decorating party with your special friends was wonderfuland Christmas Day was very special – something to be treasured! The Helsinki photos are beautiful too – what a gorgeous place (even if it was freezing!)and how lovely for you to go back to the places that you sang in on the Choral Tour Janet! Ice skating looked like a hoot and you guys had fun as per usual! We also recognised the Marlow walk – looked a bit different from when we were there though! So did the view from the top of St Paul’s Cathedral!! Dad and I are so pleased that you all had such a wonderful time “when you were all together”!
